KYOWA's Policy on the Protection of Personal Information

KYOWA PATENT AND LAW OFFICE defines "Personal Information" as names, addresses, dates of birth, indications of gender, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, and other types of information that make it possible to identify a person. KYOWA obtains and uses personal information solely for the purposes of providing legal services in the field of intellectual property, providing advisory services and seminars in the field, providing information to clients, and for responding to clients' questions and requests. KYOWA uses personal information solely within the scope of the service requested by the client and manages personal information in compliance with all related japanese laws.

KYOWA uses personal information as communications information for the purpose of creating documents to respond to clients and their inquiries, to create and submit documents necessary for official procedures, and to manage the maintenance of intellectual property.

KYOWA has implemented preventive measures to protect against the manipulation, destruction, loss, and leakage of personal information, and these measures are strictly enforced.

KYOWA does not provide or disclose personal information to third parties, except in the following cases: when the client is notified in advance or by stipulation of an agreement; when the client provides their express prior approval; and when required by law.

In the event that KYOWA entrusts an outside organization with business or services that involve the personal information of its clients, KYOWA will require the outside organization, through a written agreement, to protect the personal information, and KYOWA will supervise the management of the personal information by the outside organization.

KYOWA complies with all laws and regulations concerning private information and ensures that our internal rules are in compliance.

KYOWA will continually review and improve its policy on protecting personal information.
